HTHS Sophomore Katherine Fang Chosen as NJ State Winner in 2022 Water Environment Competition
On Wednesday, May 11th, Sophomore, Katherine Fang, was awarded first prize in the student competition at the 107th John J. Lagrosa Annual Conference and Exposition of the New Jersey Water Environment Association. Katherine was recognized at the conference for her study entitled, “Surveying Water Surface and Wetlands in Delaware Bay Using Cloud-Removed LandSat Data.” Winners were selected from projects that were entered into the 2022 Water Environment Federation SIWI/Stockholm Junior Water Prize National Competition. They were selected by a panel of 8 NJWEA Member Judges. Katherine was chosen as the NJ state winner, was awarded $1000 for her work and will be competing at the WEF/SIWI National Stockholm Junior Water Prize Competition at the Colorado School of Mines in Golden, CO in June.
